Heart Valve Voice

Heart Valve Voice UK will be hosting a patient focussed summit around the theme of The Power of Positive Ageing in honour of the first ever European Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day on 8 September in London.

The event will be chaired by Heart Valve Voice Chairman and Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and co-chaired by Heart Valve Voice CEO Wil Woan. The day will involved a patient/clinician summit, meet and greets, Demonstrations from leaders in innovation, Q&A’s, presentations addressing the challenges of Heart Valve Disease across the UK and Europe, and we will also be revealing some new resources that will help patients in their understanding of heart valve disease.

In addition to the scheduled events, there will also be opportunities to mix and mingle and try out some activities related to heart valve disease including video booths, our Quality of Life Year Counter, a book signing and more.

While the day will be full of learning opportunities, one that we are particularly excited about is the introduction of our new webinar series. The first of the series will be discussing the role of primary care in the detection and diagnosis of valve disease. The CPD approved webinar will be hosted by Dr Chris Arden, General Practitioner, GPSI Cardiology and West Hampshire CCG Cardiovascular Lead.

Finally, for those who are unable to be with us in London, we will be holding a Tweet Chat. A tweet chat involves Twitter users from all over participating in a Tweet discussion, allowing users to ask questions, share insight and contribute their experiences from the comfort of their own home or wherever they may be. Following the hashtag #heartvalveday, we will be sharing facts, figures, resources and answering all of your queries with the help of the Heart Valve Voice team, expert clinicians and patients ambassadors.
